Rescuzilla Animal Rescue, on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, rescues, rehabs and rehomes pit bulls in need…

Rescuzilla Animal Rescue of NYC works via Animal Care & Control to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome dogs from New York City’s overcrowded and underfunded shelter system. 90% of our dogs are pit bulls; not just because that is the breed most in need but because we love and adore this most misunderstood breed of dogs. We are selective about what dogs come into our group, and try and focus on those who would be otherwise overlooked and consequently face euthanasia.

All our dogs are vaccinated, vetted and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. And all our dogs come from a small network of in home fosters that ensures the dogs are “house ready”, so while we don’t always know their backgrounds, we are able to give adopters a good idea of their personalities and needs. Many times our dogs will come with formal obedience training under their belt. We love all our dogs and will always take a dog back, no questions asked, should their new home not work out.

Rescuzilla Founder Susan Cava and rescue partner/trainer Alfonso Sawadan are the core team of RZ with an ever expanding group of guardian angels who Rescuzilla would be lost without.
