NY Loves Dogs-dog care

A letter from founder Susan Cava…

NY Loves Dogs is everything I tried finding in a dog walking company when I worked long hours in the corporate world and needed a caregiver for my dog. During the years leading up to NY Loves Dogs I volunteered with one of New York’s great pet rescue groups, Pet-I-Care. While I grew up in NYC’s suburbs with German Shepherds, mutts and Bichon Frise’s, it was through handling Pet-I-Care’s foster dogs that I learned how to care for dogs with all different types of personalities – from overexcited dogs to abused dogs to needy dogs to large dogs - I enjoyed every minute of it.

When I was unable to find a dog walker who was professional, reliable and would care for my dog as though it was their own a light bulb went off – I could start a business offering the very service I was trying to find.

Since NY Loves Dogs’ conception I have tried to offer the type of excellent service New Yorkers expect. Whether it is tailoring payment schedules to client’s preferences or offering flexibility in terms of scheduling, I accommodate one and all.

Given that I truly love dogs I make sure that their needs are met – we have a lot of senior dogs who like to stroll at their own pace or exuberant dogs who need as much time at the dog run as possible -we don’t watch the clock – we simply make sure dogs get what they need.

Additionally as I am a hands-on foster parent for kittens at New York City’s Animal Care and Control (ACC) and an advocate for adoption, spaying /neutering I am proud to offer a discount to newly adopted animals from the ACC.

NY Loves Dogs is bonded and insured through Mourer-Foster Insurance; this means that if your dog should have any type of accident – stepping on glass, getting nipped – NY Loves Dogs will be able to cover any veterinary attention that is required. Additionally we hold a New York State business license.

I know NY Loves Dogs will be the dog care company you are looking for…and just as importantly, it will be exactly what your dog needs.

Walk. Play. Woof.
