Sadly, another member of the NY Loves Dogs family has left us. Casey Jo, a 14 year old Cocker Spaniel, died on Saturday, November 1st. Casey had been sufferring from a number of ailments but that didn’t stop her from doing what she enjoyed most - spending time with her family.
She loved nothing more than having her parents, sister, brother and Margaret around her. Casey was an old-timer but she always went with the flow. Other than eating carrots and biscuits, her real joy was hanging out with her family. Casey was a happy dog till the end…we will miss her.

Sadly one of the NY Loves Dogs family has passed away, Kaia lost her battle with lymphoma cancer and passed away on Friday, September 26, 2008. The only way to describe Kaia was soulful. She had eyes that seared through you with such knowing and heart that you couldn’t help but stop and pause and wonder what she knew that you didn’t.
Kaia was very possessive of those she loved and I was honored to be one of those people. I loved nothing more than to have Kaia sit on my lap, her paw on my hand while she stared at me as though to say, “I am very content right now…so don’t move.” She was such an endearing dog and lived a life fit for a queen along with her sister Morgan.
Both were adopted into one of the best homes you can imagine - their owners, Dervla and Ted, are what owners should be – kind, lively, intelligent and most of all loving. They fought Kaia’s cancer with strength and determination – it stunned us all that she didn’t beat it. Always one of my favorites, Kaia will be missed infinitely but she has taught us a lesson that can never be taught enough: life is so very short, enjoy it while you can.
We love you and miss you little Kai-Kai…may you once again be the healthy and happy dog we all loved so very much. Your paws made an imprint on our hearts forever. Thank you Kaia.
